Generally, a home inspection is scheduled by an individual during the purchasing process of a new home. Home inspections are done before the home is sold to show the condition of the home as well as point out any fixes that can be done. These inspections should be done by a licensed inspector who has training and certifications to ensure the quality of their inspection
Unless your house is brand new, there is a large chance that you will have multiple issues that will get flagged during a Palm Desert Home Inspection. Even with a brand-new home, there is no guarantee that it will pass an inspection with flying colors. An issue that can come up from an inspection can be super small like a bracket need on your dishwasher, or it could be something much larger like black mold. A home inspection has many benefits whether you are purchasing a home, or if you have lived there for years.
Safety – A home inspection is incredibly important to make sure there are no critical issues before you purchase your home. Some of the issues that come up that can affect your and your family’s safety can be improper wiring, faulty foundation, structural issues, damaged roofs, and much more.
Protection – When getting ready to book a Palm Desert Home Inspection, it is important to remember that you are having your most valuable investment inspected to be sure it is worth buying. Skipping out on a home inspection and buying it As-Is is never recommended, as there could be underlying issues that you would have never known.
Contingency- You do not have to accept the home as-is if there are things that come up. A homeowner can leverage the seller to fix issues that come up on an inspection report. This can save you money and worry by having the issues fixed before you and your family move into the. That is where Home Sweet Home Inspections come in! Our team has four full-time inspectors who are fully trained and fully certified to provide you with the most meticulous home inspection.
While a general home inspection is the best option for anyone purchasing a home, it does not cover everything that may be an issue. One of the biggest add-ons to all of our Palm Desert Home Inspections is our Radon Testing. Radon is a deadly gas that is colorless and odorless making it extremely dangerous for your family. It occurs naturally and can appear in any home. The only way to make sure your home does not have a presence of radon is to have a test completed.
Other go-to common ancillary services added on to most of our home’s inspections are Air Quality, Mold Sampling, Asbestos Testing, and Lead Paint Testing. Depending on the age of the home you are buying it may be worth the additional costs to have these tests done. If your home was built prior to 1978, there is a chance that there may still be a presence of lead-based paints. Even later than that Asbestos was banned in the United States in 1989; therefore, homes built prior may have lingering asbestos. If there is even a small suspicion that your home may have Radon, Asbestos, or Lead Paint, it would be safe to add these to your home inspection. Remember, you may be able to negotiate the repair of any of these into your home closure.
